IPL S3TLM Magnesium TRANSMISSIONLINE
The S3tlm is a compact transmission line using the superb new IPL/6/M magnesium coned bass unit with its ultra-light but stiff cone, smooth response, sturdy cast chassis , and large shielded magnet assembly, and the excellent Seas H398 aluminium dome tweeter (which is now recognized as being one of the best metal dome units). The H398 gives excellent compatibility with the metal bass unit combining to give a very smooth response, and near perfect phase characteristics. .
The new Magnesium S3tlm is a further development of the highly acclaimed Aluminium S3tlm (still available) giving the same open, large scale sound but with improved midrange and treble clarity. All this is obtained without harshness ensuring that this is a speaker you can listen to all day without fatigue. The SPL response is extremely smooth giving a well balanced and natural sound quality. The bi-wired crossover is 2nd order and incorporates high quality IPL polypropylene capacitors, (where required), new IPL steel laminate Bass Inductors and air cored inductors, and high power resistors. Line damping is with IPL"s profiled acoustic foam, and small quantities of Long Haired wool. The total kit has a very solid flat pack cabinet (with no less than 21 x 18mm MDF panels per speaker), including internal baffles, angled deflectors (at each line corner of the triple folded line), shaped grille frame, and a separate boxed stand which is spiked and filled with sand. Plus and Total kits now include the superb quality CP4L Gold Bi-wired terminal /Crossover Panel .
