IPL S5TL RT1.3 Ribbon TRANSMISSION LINE
A large 3 way Transmission Line using the superb 10" Hi Vi S1011P Bass unit with its high sensitivity, smooth response, large 150mm magnet, and very stiff talc impregnated Polypropylene cone, and the high performance IPL/5/M magnesium bass/ midrange unit with its excellent low distortion, clear and natural midrange capabilities, and superbly detailed sound, and the new IPL RT1.3b Ribbon tweeter which has a smooth response and fast, detailed and transparent sound. The sound quality of this speaker is awesome with huge scale and extended bass, but with a superbly natural detailed mid-band and treble. The speaker is suitable for larger rooms i.e. say 20ft by 12 ft upward. As with the original S5tl the sound quality is quite exceptional with a large scale presentation, clarity, and a sense of atmosphere and occasion which is rarely achieved in speakers costing less than £2-3000. The S5TL because of its extended bass response allows you to hear the ambience of the concert hall, something you will never achieve with smaller or inferior speakers.
. The bi-wired crossover incorporates quality IPL polypropylene capacitors, Super power and Steel Laminate inductors, and high power resistors. The mid and treble levels are adjustable, by altering resistors in the crossover. The line is damped with Profiled Acoustic Foam, and Long Haired wool. The Total kit contains 21 MDF panels per speaker and is exceptionally strong with virtually no panel resonance as most internal panels are angled to prevent standing wave formation. The total kit includes; stands panels, internal baffles, deflectors, shaped grille panel and is available in plain or mahogany finish (sides and top). We would recommend this speaker for use with medium to high power solid state rather than Valve amplification.
