The SW4 is a very compact but powerful 25 litre active subwoofer with an exceptional performance delivering superbly controlled low  bass .This is possible because of equalisation built into the crossover circuit. The downward firing 10" bass unit is the massive 300 watt (peak power) Hi VI S1011P  unit with its large 5.75" magnet,  linear response, and very stiff Polypropylene Talc  cone. The combination of these features gives this unit a large force factor (BL)  resulting in superb bass control .

The powerful SW4 300 watt  amplifier /crossover unit (weighing 5 kg !) is built to IPL specifications and incorporates a large torroidal transformer ensuring silent operation. It also incorporates; adjustable frequency contouring (with crossover points between 40 and 150hz) phase switch, low level inputs, both mono and stereo, (for outputs from home cinema amps and stereo pre-amps,) and high level inputs  and output to satellites, suitable for use with stereo integrated amps. The amp automatically senses the signal shutting down when not in use This unit gives complete versatility with Home Cinema and Stereo systems. The superbly extended but controlled bass this unit gives is only achieved in commercial subwoofers costing in excess of £900.

The total kit includes a very solid flat-pack 22mm MDF cabinet which can be veneered (1 roll of MV1 is sufficient), sprayed or covered in black ash Venelia. The SW4 is very simple to build and can be completed in a day. The unit comes complete with mains lead. Low level is via gold phono sockets.
