IPL A2 MK4 HDA FLOORSTANDING SPEAKER
The A2 is a slim 27 litre floorstanding ported speaker using the superb new improved Audax Reference series Aerogel coned bass unit (the HM17OZ18) with its smooth response and die-cast chassis, and larger 100mm magnet, and the excellent new SEAS 27mm textile dome tweeter with its rear chamber and low resonant frequency. These two units combine together perfectly to give a near textbook response which is flat from 40htz to 20khtz . The resulting sound is clean and open with good bass extension, imaging and a smooth, transparent non-fatiguing treble. The Mk4 version improves over the Mk3 with superb dynamics and a more transparent treble
The A2 can be used in reasonably small rooms and can be placed fairly close to rear walls. The crossover is biwired and uses high quality polypropylene capacitors super power inductors and resistors. The A2 total kit has a cabinet kit made from 22mm and 18mm MDF, and includes a grille panel and separate spiked plinth. The A2 veneer kit has preveneered mahogony sides and top, and iron-on veneer for the cabinet front The A2 kit may also be used in closed or ported cabinets of between 13 and 35 litres.
